Lovisa Burfitt

Born in 1973 - Sweden

Born in Sweden in 1973, Lovisa Burfitt is one of the most renowned Scandinavian fashion illustrators. She has been living and working in France since 2002.

Graduated from Beckmans School of Fashion in 1998, she created a high end line of ready-to-wear under the name Burfitt. She continued her studies at the Royal College of Art in Stockholm as a guest student before moving to Paris as a fashion designer and illustrator.

Today she's fully dedicated to illustration work at Agent & Artists Agency in Paris. She is often called upon by prestigious brands like H&M, Sephora, Jimmy Choo, Nordstrom, Harrods, Selfridges, Guerlain, Givenchy, Absolut Vodka. She collaborates regularly with VOGUE, ELLE, Grazia, Glamour, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph and W magazine. She also participated in a book illustration with her superb interpretation of the eccentric character: Mademoiselle Oiseau.

Lovisa uses different techniques, especially ink, watercolor, pencil and posca. With a simple glance, she is able to capture the essence of the fashion silhouettes, people, environment and architecture.

Her brisk and impressionist strokes are filled with energy and are able to create a spectacular contrast between sophistication and tachism, the pure and the raw, the dramatic and the poetic.
