Eric Girardin was born in Geneva in 1949. He is a retired pediatrician. Since the appearance of comet KohouteK in 1973, he embraces the hobby of amateur astronomer and the photography of celestial objects. He studied film photography, but it was with the advent of digital photography that the possibilities of astronomical photography exploded. A successful photo usually requires long hours of exposure. She then reveals her artistic side which can be further emphasized by unconventional framing of celestial objects. Eric Girardin tries to reveal in his photographs the beauty of the universe without supporting artificially the colors and the contrasts to remain faithful to the nature and the cosmos which surround us.
