Born in 1942 - Switzerland
Albert Merz is a Swiss artist born in 1942 in Unterägi in Switzerland. He studied at the higher education school of arts in Berlin, where he now works and lives.
Albert Merz's work subtly combines abstract and figurative images, contemporary and inspired by archaism. He associates geometric shapes to more natural ones in a harmonious composition, playing with light and obscurity, colors and transparence.
In 1997 he worked for the cultural foundation Zuger Landis Gyr. His work was shown in several personal and collective exhibits in France and Switzerland.
