Brent Blair

I have a degree in Fine Art from Kingston, specialised at that time in painting and building environments. In my twenties, I exhibited several times at the Mandela and the Arnhem Galleries in London.
When I first started out, I was lucky enough to work in the film and TV industry in special effects. I have helped create costumes for Starlight Express, transformed people into werewolves with prosthetic makeup and even worked as an animatronics creative on the film ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ at Pinewood studios. I was part of a team that built the monster plant’s mechanical vines.
With the film industry’s recession in 1989, I then changed career and eventually established a consultancy in the West End of London that specialised in managing and promoting creative people’s careers in advertising and design. I was the managing director of this business for 18 years, until I recently decided to sell the business to a group of employees.
