Presentation

Russel Marshall is an award winning newspaper designer and journalist living and working in London. His work reflects 25 years in the tabloid industry. Use of colour, production techniques and choice of images stem from the golden days of the red top press... when stars were really stars, when news was really news and when the best pictures and the best stories made the best front pages.

Marshall's work explores the public fascination for celebrities and celebrates the icons of show business.

He represents iconic images that deserve to be seen again, bold CMYK colours that leap off the page plus the odd cheeky one liner to make you smile.

His influences include Pop Art, punk art, urban art, comic book art, street art and manga. He has said, "Anyone that has entered this industry in the last 10 years has to give a nod towards Banksy." And he's always loved Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Sir Peter Blake.

His work is featured in galleries in London, Brighton, New York, Miami, Hamburg, Melbourne and now Paris.
