Born in 1974 - United Kingdom
Born in 1974 in Sutton Coldfield, Iain Andrews currently lives and works in Manchester.
He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Walsall and at the University of Sheffield. The English artist works as well as an art psychotherapist with teenagers suffering from emotional disorders, this work deeply inspires him in the creation of his own pieces.
Searching for that feeling of meditation and contemplation that we experience in front of religious images, Iain Andrews tries to give more divinity to our society. Which can be clearly seen throughout his work, specially by the subjects he addresses: love, suffering and death. Ian Andrews tries to represent of the connection between body and spirit and the eternal conflict of these two forces, symbols of the carnal and religious approach.
In a style between figuration and abstraction, Iain Andrews includes several historical and religious details in his pieces, giving a new and more contemporary interpretation of them. The artist creates thickness and blurs the reading of the composition thanks to the blurring effects he applies.
Iain Andrews' work is particularly exhibited in English art galleries.
