Originally from Bratislava, Slovakia, Daniela Raytchev offers us a rare and subjective perception of the world through her figurative and abstract drawings.
Having a degree in Art and Design from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and from the London College of Fashion, Daniela Raytchev's creative talents are not limited to a single medium. The artist also works well with charcoal, ink or acrylics, she experiments with digital collage and creates very expressive pieces, as well as portraits of fluid colors and complex drawings. She paints big marks with the help of her body and her arms, a gesture that gives a dynamic sense and movement to her work.
Trying to match her passion and her personal experience, she likes to identify with artists such as Willem de Kooning and Frida Kahlo.
In each of her pieces, Daniela raytchev shares a part of herself, as well as an objective interpretation of what she observes, trying to think about the emotions that can rise after a conflict. Her artistic philosophy is to address certain social stigma through art, such as drug use and abuse and to create visual interpretations of the physical and psychological effects, of these conflicts. Her paintings have a refreshing honesty and are the exploration of personal stories done with great artistic delicacy.
Daniela Raytchev's work has been mentioned in journals such as the "Times" and the "Huffington Post". Recently, the artist has created a new series about drug abuse: this project has already obtained the support of several celebrities, created to support the association "Beat Eating Disorder".
