Born in 1950 - United Kingdom
Louise Balaam is an English artist born in 1950. She obtained a BA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury, as well as a MA (Master of Fine Arts) at the Christchurch University College in Canterbury.
Her work is an answer to the enchantment that exudes from the spectacle of nature, and in particular of the light. In the pictorial tradition of the classical English landscapes and of artists as Constable or Peter Lanyon, Louise Balaam oil paintings express the strong bond the artist has with nature. At first she starts to make quick sketches, then she paints in an intuitive way in a studio, so that her artworks refer to real or indoor landscapes.
Louise Balaam has exhibited her artworks at the 15th edition of the Art fair of the Royal College of Art in London, and at the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2008.
