Born in 1956 - United Kingdom
David Hiscock is a British artist born in 1956. He studied at the Royal College of Art.
Originally a painter and sculptor, he is one of the forerunners of fine art photography of the 80s. He uses photography as a support with which he plays by retouching, cutting, superimposing, enlarging his photographs and applying his own colors and varnishes to the image.
He presents his images-objects in imposing frames, creating impressive pieces by encasing them or applying them in old doors or fragments of pianos.
He explores the different metaphorical possibilies of still life, bringing the observer into an imaginary and visionary world.
David Hiscock has won several famous photography awards and has worked for magazines such as Vogue, Zoom, Creative Camera etc. His work has been exhibited in the United States and Japan.
