Born in 1967 - United States
Jean Nestares has a rich and diverse career inspired by her artist father. She expresses her creative talent in several mediums such as painting, writing, illustration, but her first love has always been photography. Movements, people and the vigorous pulse of different cities have always been her inspiration.
This interest in movement is a side effect of her professional training in Cinematography at NYU and working for years as a director and producer for a television station. Her experiments in making still photography appear as if it's alive and moving combine cinematographic principles with high quality traditional non edited photography.
This diversity of backgrounds and experiences gives her work such depth and power. New York but also Paris, Ibiza, Milan, Madrid, Caracas, Mexico City, and Chicago have been her home and research ground. Now Jean Nestares looks forward to push her inspiration even further by exploring alternative printing processes and continue showing her work in New York and internationally.
