Born in 1972 - United States
Gary Gagliano is an American painter born in 1972.
As a former student of the American Academy of Art Chicago, he established his workshop in Bangkok in 2015, after living for more than 20 years in New York, town where his success as a painter started.
He achieved this success thanks to a very specific technique (enamel painting on canvas, done with successive layers, that creates a three-dimensional effect and high brilliance), to a great sense of color and composition. He was quickly adopted by the fashion and show business communities in New York, from which a great number of collectors are issued.
It is no coincidence that he was exhibited in solo at the haute couture level of the luxury store Bergdorf Goodman on the 5th Avenue (First exhibition at this place since Andy Warhol's in the 1970's), or that the American brand Theory ordered him a giant world map (white on white, with reliefs, enamel; 8 meters on 3 meters) for the lobby of his main building in the Meatpacking district.
But it is now in Bangkok that he choose to express his talent, in a town that reminds him of New York in the 1990's, where design, fashion and contemporary art go hand-in-hand, and that offer an ideal environment for creation.
