Born in 1957 in Montevideo, Sergio Mesa is from Uruguayan artist.
Sergio Mesa studied photography and cinema at Montevideo before settling down in France. Initially he did a career in photo reporting for various newspapers, such as le Dauphiné Libère, le Progrès de Lyon and Marie Claire.
Sergio Mesa founded his own creation studio in 1983 in Annecy.
The artist is inspired by great painters from the 20th Century like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Roy Rosenquist and Tom Weselman, to create his own photos with bright and saturated colors.
His art work is a mix of photography and graphic designing on themes like the consuming society, sexuality and advertising.
