Damien Mauro, known as Goddog, grew up in Sardinia in Orgosolo, the capital of street art. Self-taught, he started graffiti at the age of 15. From walls to painting on canvas, the artist feeds off everything he encounters along the way: travels, readings, experiences. His forms are composed of lines and curves of great simplicity, which call to dream. We can see faces structuring the canvases to the rhythm of the colours. Goddog's universe is situated at the frontiers of urban art, abstraction and free figuration. From large-scale frescoes to canvases exhibited in galleries, lines and forms reveal geometric imaginary worlds where landscapes, faces and symbols are hidden. The repetition of emblematic canvases in his works, makes them apparent by their recurrence to contemporary totems. With no mystical will displayed, Goddog's work is full of symbolic, ethnic and dreamlike evocations.
