Pierre-Jean Llado

Passed from abstraction to figuration, he succeeded in the challenge open to his own path, without ever losing the sense of color and narration that nourishes him. The colors are those, often from its Catalan origins, “Blood and Gold”, bright yellow and purple, released very spontaneously in large strokes. Radiance and harmony, always with an enigma, something secret to discover. and therefore Narration. Landscapes, rural or urban, sumptuous banks of rivers or ponds, or large urban scenes open in Hong Kong, New York, with undeniably something that has chosen the relief of the painters of Poetic Reality of the fifties, André Planson or Maurice Brianchon. The portraits or “gallant festivals” are the other facet of this beautiful and unusual work. Dream characters, costumed parade scenes, ideal or caricatured women, Llado again poses his enigma, and it is up to his viewer to answer, although here too the narration remains at the heart of the work. Everyone can indeed imagine their own story, without the painting completely mirroring.
