In his piece “Control", Royo immerses us in a vibrant and dynamic scene where the balance between power and elegance takes center stage. A majestic white horse, rendered with the artist's signature energy, is guided by a young woman of serene and resolute presence. The tension of the moment, the delicacy of the hands, and the animal's vitality merge in a burst of light, color, and motion—Royo's unmistakable hallmark.

The limited edition of “Control" is crafted to the highest quality standards, available as a Fine Art Giclée print on Dibond aluminum, and intended for those wishing to bring Royo's art into their spaces with the utmost fidelity and prestige.
At the request of his collectors, the Buysculpture Art Gallery and Royo are offering numbered art editions.
Dibond Aluminum: Royo also uses Dibond aluminum, which offers a particularly pure and authentic effect due to the absence of glass. It is composed of three layers: two platinum-white coated aluminum plates enclosing a black polyethylene core. The fine yet robust film over the photo print effectively protects the Dibond aluminum image without bubbles.
The result is a plasma screen effect, increasingly used in final artwork presentations in galleries worldwide.
The artist's work is executed using a mixed technique over an ultra-HD digital art design on Dibond aluminum, with latex and UV-LED pigments, and a graphene finish that provides scratch resistance, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor spaces. It is framed in a smooth black Basilea gallery frame, made of wood and giving the work a thickness of 3 cm.

José Mateu San Hilario, known artistically as ROYO, was born in Valencia on 20 December 1941, and his desire to paint began in earliest childhood. When he was nine his father a doctor with a strong interest in art acknowledged his ability and began to employ private tutors to instruct him in drawing, painting and sculpture. At 14, Royo enrolled at the San Carlos Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia, continuing lessons privately from the age of 18 with Adolfo Ferrer Amblar. To supplement his art-historical studies he visited the major museums of Europe, seeing at first hand works that would inspire and influence him, including paintings by Diego Velazquez, Francisco Goya, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Joaquin Sorolla. There are parallels between Royo's art and that of Sorolla. Both have been described as 'painters of the light', and Royo evokes the startling blues of the Mediterranean under the southern sun most notably in his Mallorca works. Staying on the island each year, he uses its coastline and cliffs, its white sands and sea breezes, to heighten an already vivid palette and breathe extra life into the thick, flowing tresses of his subjects. At his estate in a village near Valencia, the settings are more tranquil, with orchards or white-painted walls as the backdrop.
