Presentation
For this temporary exhibition, Hub'Art welcomes the artists Didier Becquart & Robin Cerutti.

Didier BECQUART was born in 1953 in the North of France. At the beginning of the 90s, by chance of an encounter, he discovered modeling clay. For this professional art founder, the meeting is a revelation. In contact with the material, he sees multiple technical and creative possibilities. Clay in its raw, wet state can be worked easily and endlessly… This contrasts with metal, with which he engages in a real physical battle in his daily professional life. The prospect of a creative outlet then presents itself to him. He, who for years, feels deep down an increasingly pressing artistic call… He, endowed with a different, indefinable and secret sensitivity, has not yet dared to release his inner discourse. The time has therefore come to seize the opportunity, to open a new door. He certainly does not yet measure its full scope, but clay will become the means of concretely transcribing his artistic journey. Since this experience and on the sidelines of his professional activity, Didier Becquart will therefore patiently develop and educate his vision... To better share it. Driven by a deep curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, he chose the School of Applied Arts of Roubaix (ESAAT) in order to perfect his knowledge and thus confront himself with the academisms of sculpture. His personal approach, at the time still raw and protean, would only come out more structured and technically better mastered. Especially during plaster studies where the artist copies an existing work. On the strength of this experience, it is a second genesis when he accesses courses with live models. He then lets himself be guided by his instinct for observation and allows the magic of personal interpretation. He will say on this subject: "from the first sessions with the model, I knew that this would be the main orientation of my work". The study of anatomy, attitudes and the body in motion will be his quests An "exciting complexity" that attracts and guides the eye of an artist in full maturation and whose gaze continues to refine. By dint of working curves, lines and proportions, the creative hands of its author reveal, with more and more subtlety and precision, his intention: that of giving life to the material, to give a setting to the power of to be, to offer a bodily envelope to the movement. This enthusiast who loves all the phases of his creative process - with his questions, his work on the material (clay, wax, bronze) - fully blossoms in creation... Pleasure of which he likes to share the final result: unique pieces, sensitive and powerful. Sculptures that promise to surprise and move us again, the artist wishing to “continue towards more energy in motion” thanks to the world of dance which inspires him with new fields of exploration.

Robin Cerutti's career as an artist is atypical to say the least. Indeed, in addition to his exceptional talents as a photographer, he holds a doctorate in nanotechnology. It was in 2006, while working for IBM in New York, that he emerged as an artist and his work began to be recognized and to find a place for itself on the artistic scene and in the world of fashion. In New York, Robin Cerutti initially exhibited his works at the Collective Gallery 173-171, based in the Chinatown district, as well as on behalf of the American Italian Cancer Foundation, during an event organized by Damiani and Kiton. He then signed the exhibition She's an Astronomer, which consisted of a series of portraits of women scientists aimed at arousing the interest of young people in science. This exhibition was first presented at the Zòcalo – in the very heart of downtown Mexico City – then at the Museo de la Luz and in several schools across the country. In 2012, he created a “Post-modern Pop” collection, disseminated via digital art mediums, as part of the closing of the Tom Wesselman exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. His works have been presented at the Chromatic festival in Montreal (2012 to 2014) and in Paris (2015). In 2015, the Montréal Créative exhibition-event chose to present its works in the studios of ICI ARTV in order to illustrate the artistic effervescence of Montréal. It was then that he joined the MX gallery team. Since then, his works have started to travel around the world, passing through Las Olas Fine-Art in Florida (2016) and the Galeries Marciano group in Paris (2017). In 2017, thanks to Hub-Art, Robin was able to officially unveil his new Presence series at the Cube Art Fair, an art fair exhibiting some thirty North American artists in Brussels. He then exhibited his presence series in the Art Avantage gallery in Paris and later in late 2018 during the group exhibition 'embody' at the Vivendi gallery. In recent years, Robin has also adapted his artistic concepts to dreamlike scenographies in the last two films of French director Louis-Julien Petit, namely Carole Mathieu, in 2016, starring Isabelle Adjani, and Les invisibles in 2018. His works have been published in numerous blogs and magazines such as : Artsy Editorial, PetaPixel, My Modern Net, American Photography Artist, Photography Served, Claudia Magazine, to name a few.
