Nindya Bucktowar (b. 1988, Mauritius) is a multi-disciplinary artist who experiments with clay and multiple media to create installations inspired by natural and urban landscapes. She specializes in topographic ceramic sculptures and installations, using earth fragments as a means to create immersive spaces and experiences. 

She views her art making as an intimate process, where she interprets and abstracts fragments of her experiences of the physical world into her work. The form, elements, texture and details of her work are placed in a way that evokes a sense of familiarity and nostalgia. His studio is located in Durban, KZN.

Bucktowar graduated from Nelson Mandela University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies in 2013. Bucktowar currently runs her own multidisciplinary design practice and ceramics business.

She is the principal of Nindya Ceramics and co-director of NT Design Studio, NT Leather and Kalki Ceramics. In early 2021, Bucktowar was selected for the RMB Talent Unlocked program in association with Everard Read and Strauss & co, where she exhibited her work at Circa Gallery in Johannesburg. 

Her work was acquired by First Rand Private Art Collection and Artbank Collection in 2021. Following her first solo in August 2021 at the KwaZulu Natal Society of Arts, she was awarded the first Ndebele prize at the G&W Regional Ceramic Exhibition. She completed a residency program at Imiso Ceramics from March to May 2022. 

Previously, Bucktowar participated in major group exhibitions at KZNSA Gallery and the African Art Centre. Among her collaborative projects, she has worked with Durban Art Gallery, South African Network Cities, 100% Design, American Hardwood, Always Welcome, Nandos, Mr Price and Red Bull.
