Presentation
This is the best way to summarize an original journey marked by various experiences and influences. This encounter with the Plastic Arts is first of all through interior architecture and theater decoration that it will occur. After a multidisciplinary education at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de Paris, the practice of monumental sculpture in a theater decoration workshop in Touraine will allow me to master different sculptural techniques.
After two years fully devoted to monumental sculpture, I decided to set up in Chartres, my hometown, a workshop for awakening to the arts in association with a dance teacher. Teaching children and adults associated with training at the Faculty of Plastic Arts (License in Paris - Saint-Charles) allows me to broaden my palette and explore new forms of artistic expression including dance which will become my main source of inspiration. After 2 years in Normandy where I reconciled sclupture and teaching, I decided to devote myself mainly to metal sculpture by trying to develop a very personal mode of expression and working technique.
My working technique
Strongly inspired by the dancers, I try to capture in the material the evanescent movements of the body. My sculpture thus becomes a silent expression of the instability of existence. My plastic research is slow because I refuse to take the path of caricature or that of narration. For that, I proceed to a slow work which alternates construction and destruction, assembly and disassembly, gluing and cutting. A subtle play takes place between full and empty, presence and absence, until a state of grace is obtained, just between strength and fragility.
