Gilgogué

Gilles Goguet self-taught artist close to the CoBrA movement, worked at the factory until 1990; but all his free time is spent drawing and painting. His meeting and his friendship with the artist Corneille encouraged him to develop his artistic practice. From 1989, he exhibited regularly and then became "Gilgogué". Many European galleries then trust this defender of a free, raw and colorful figuration.

Sometimes his works are hung alongside the greatest (Corneille, Clavé or Alechinsky in 1991 at the Pharmagora Gallery in Paris, Ségui, Kijno, Picasso, Tapies, Velickovic or Ben, more recently, in 2003, at the Valery Larbaud Cultural Center in Vichy ).

Based in Caen, where he lives and is founded, Gilgogué is also one of the founders of Marché de l'Art de Caen. He has since become the director of the WAM gallery; he also directs, next to this place which has become a must in Normandy, as regards contemporary art exhibitions, the "Totem" Gallery specializing in the Early Arts.
