Lionel Couvrandt

Urban poet, unearther of abandoned unusual objects, Lionel assembles and builds what he calls "products". Depending on the shapes, colors and materials, new objects appear whose lines evoke the spinning top, the rocket or what the imagination of each of us will do with it.

Born in St Nazaire in 1964, he spent a year in an artist's studio before entering the Beaux Arts in Orleans in 1980. It was then a short stint at the London College of Printing where he explored communication graphic then obtained his National Higher Diploma in Plastic Studies (DNSEP) in 1987.

From advertising to decoration and design, it is in Brussels that Lionel begins to explore this new universe as a contemporary archaeologist, a great recuperator-transformer to deliver his poetic sculptures to us.
