Cécile de Kock

Born into a family of sculptors, it is normal and visceral that Cécile de Kock has a passion for sculpture very early on. Good family, since her father was first prize in Rome and pupil of Georges Braque. Good training, having had as teacher Yoham Gisel, student of Jean Paul Delvaux.

Precocious, since then, aged only 17, the newspapers said that her creations were astounding. To perfect her knowledge, she will travel the world and France like a companion to acquire a more in-depth knowledge of stone and marble.

She specializes in a semi-precious stone "the serpentine" with a green color like emerald, very close to Jade. This stone comes from the Var region, precisely in the golf course of Saint-Tropez.

She quickly appropriates a universe of strength and purity, through slender and fluid lines, mixing the hardness and coldness of marble with the finesse and warmth of women, it is by filling these two worlds that it offers us a perfect unity between elegance and brute force.

A journey for so many years, staggered by awards, often guest of honor, she has a sense of independence, to be free in front of her block of marble and to bring it to life.

And if you asked her how she feels when she carves a block of marble? She will answer that it is unconditional freedom that she feels, defying the law of the first sight.
