Jean-Louis Lopes

Very young he discovered a gift for drawing and self-taught painting he tried several techniques but although he had always loved art he made his career in another field. The years pass, he settles in the mountains of Lyonnais where he founds his family. Following a long convalescence, he takes back his pencils at the request of his daughter ... thirty years have passed and the passion is still there.

 The meeting with some people led to a first small exhibition in 2020 at the MALABAR café but unfortunately his dream was stopped by the health crisis ... but he does not give up and a second small exhibition is born in 2021 at the Media library of its commune.

From this outcome will be born the series "BLACK and WHITE"

These drawings are a mixture of graphite pencil and felt, these paintings are made on cotton canvas ... he loves to test any kind of support, cardboard, paper but always with oil paint a material he loves to work.

He draws mainly black and white portraits inspired by femininity, his style is strongly influenced by photography and fashion. These paintings are a means of transmitting to the spectators his passion for contemporary art.
