Presentation
The child of Fréhel is a follower of pictorial art, perhaps the most subtle and the most capable of acting by himself on sensitivity and thought.
When at twenty he puts his first colors on the canvas, he does it out of revolt: "I chose painting rather than words to express myself."
Trained as a cabinetmaker, he stayed in Paris and had a decisive encounter with the work of Dubuffet. The first years he exhibited in France then decided to go to Germany, the art market required. His paintings delight collectors and art enthusiasts in France and around the world.
He is installed since 2008 in St Briac in his studio gallery.
The important thing in his eyes is the composition, the color and the work of materials. For 10 years he has created a series of paintings entitled: shrimps.
"Painting, repainting and painting again, go to the depths of oneself, to the doors of the sensitive where the border no longer has reason to exist. It is all this freedom that we are told so much about but that we do not find only deep down." Jean-Charles Gautier.
