Evgeny Merman is a painter and multimedia artist, born in Ukraine where he started his art education in Kiev Art School and Kiev Academia of Fine Art. He currently lives and works in Tel Aviv.
In the late 90s after studying at New York's School of Visual Arts (SVA) and living in New York and later in Hong Kong, Evgeny Merman returned to Israel, where he pursues his artistic career. Considering himself a neo-expressionist, he aims to capture moments of life, people, stories and fragments of visual information in his oil paintings. He transforms images from the real world as they pass through him, becoming his silent testimony.
His works has been exhibited in several solo exhibitions and group shows in Israel, Ukraine, Germany and Hong Kong and are part of the collection of the Jerusalem Municipality Collection, MACT / Modern Arte Contemporanea Museum, Ticino, Switzerland, Hong Kong Holocaust and Tolerance Resource Centre.
Award – 2019 – 1st Prize at 33th Kyoto Art Festival, International Juried Exhibition of Art, Japan.

Who is the artist?
