Biography
“My name is Mahatma Lizon, I am a Bolivian painter, I decided to paint so as of not to stop seeing the beautiful things that life has to offer, and to show that life is not only what we see, that there is more, and one must find it. I also want for my painting to motivate the people that will change the world".
Mahatma Freddy Lizon Fonseca
Mahatma Lizon is one of a few Bolivian artists whose work can be categorized as “naïve". His inclination into paining started at an early age. He entered the School of Fine arts in La Paz to receive formal training but felt that the academic approach was rather constraining to his organic impulses towards painting. He abandoned the School of Fine Arts after a few months and decided to pursue his painting away from traditional academic structures. He remains committed to a constant exploration of reality, and although open to experimentation and study, he strives for nurturing his spontaneity.
