Cory Ciona

Cory Ciona is a Canadian artist renowned for his abstract acrylic paintings that draw inspiration from natural landscapes. Raised in Canada's hinterland, he developed a passion for art early on, leading him to study Fine Arts at the Alberta College of Art and Design in the Rocky Mountains.

Cory's artistic journey is marked by extensive global travel, including residencies in Sydney, Australia, and London, England. In Sydney, the vibrant natural landscapes influenced his early works, while London's dynamic art scene and exposure to masters like Monet, Rothko, and Richter further shaped his creative direction.

In his practice, Cory employs unconventional tools such as knives, machetes, plastic, and wood, eschewing traditional brushes to create textured, dynamic compositions. His distinctive style has garnered international recognition, with features in publications like Vogue UK and exhibitions in prestigious galleries across Paris and New York.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Cory is a certified sommelier since 2007 and co-authored "Cidres du Québec," which won the world's best spirits book at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Paris in 2009. He has also been involved in organizing events that blend his passions, such as the Canadian Wine and Art Festival in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.

Currently, Cory operates Studio 48 in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, where he continues to produce original artworks, carvings, and photography. He also hosts wine tastings and events, integrating his expertise in both art and wine.
