Each work is an adventure in itself, where the creative process is just as important as the final result.
Biography
THIME , real name Thierry Ménéchal, is an artist from Dordogne and currently based in Bordeaux.
Curious and creative, THIME describes himself as an autodidact passionate about travel, encounters and landscapes. These experiences are the source of his artistic inspiration. His work is an invitation for everyone to dive into their own imagination, to let their emotions speak and to discover unsuspected inner worlds. After a successful career as Sales Director in a large international group, he decided to follow his passion for art, marking a decisive turning point in his artistic journey in July 2015.
His artistic journey has been deeply influenced by masters of abstract art such as Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Joan Mitchell or Mark Rothko whose works have awakened in him a passion for experimentation and creative freedom. The observation of nature, urban landscapes and human emotions also serves as a constant source of inspiration, fueling his desire to translate these elements into unique abstract compositions. These "encounters" that he discovers during his travels nourish his imagination and enrich his palette.
THIME 's artistic approach is based on three main axes:
The use of pigments to create effects and transparencies.
The use of oil to add material and relief, allowing the colours to be superimposed and worked in successive layers, thus creating effects of depth and luminosity in each composition.
The exploration of textured materials or linen sheets to provoke movements, thus creating works that invite both tactile and visual exploration.
He works exclusively with a knife, adopting a constant spontaneity in his gestures. This technique allows him to create dynamic and vibrant works, reflecting his relationship to time and emotion.
THIME 's creative process is generally deeply intuitive and exploratory. He begins without any preliminary sketches, with just a desire for colors allowing each gesture, each stroke of the knife or addition of material to follow the natural flow of his inspiration. He likes to work quickly and spontaneously, with energetic and instinctive movements letting his emotions guide his gestures. and each painting is the result of snapshots capturing doses of pigments, movements of materials, choices of colors, moods of the day, emotions and feelings.
This spontaneity and freedom of expression are at the heart of his artistic work.
THIME often defines himself as curious and an explorer.
He is in perpetual research and notes in a notebook that always follows him, ideas that pass through his head, impressions, colors seen during his wanderings.
He invites everyone to open a window on the unconscious and dive into their own imagination. His art offers a unique experience, where each painting is a capture of emotions and movements, reflecting the richness of the human experience. His hope is that his creations can inspire, move.
Professional Artist, THIME is registered with the Maison des Artistes de Paris and is certified I-CAC (Certified Artist Rating Index). All his creations are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and are ADAGP members.
