Biography

Born in 1967, Elisabeth de Chérisey graduated in Plastic Arts from the Neufville Conte workshop.
She began by creating unique ceramic pieces before selling models of original designs to the big names in porcelain and earthenware such as Bernardaud, Gien, Villeroy et Boch, Coquet, Raynaud, Philippe Deshoullières.
But it is painting that fascinates her. After a series of still lifes that she brings to life, she immerses herself in the deep study of characters and horses, studying gestures and the moment, like so many pieces of life.
Figuring simple attitudes, such as the improvised "confidences" on the steps, gives a timeless meaning, a pose in time. The sun comes to emphasize a leaning shoulder, the shadow unifies beings and things to the earth.
