Biography
Sophie Geider's work shows us a painting that explores softness, rich in colors and textures, through a dreamlike world that invites you to travel. From her Polynesian childhood, she has kept all the richness and pictorial sensorality. Sophie experiments with juxtapositions, overlays, using acrylic, fabrics, papers and gold leaves, as well as vibrant tones. She paints in the material as one does embroidery. The characters are captured there in their movements, or their expectations, as if suspended in the moment. Sometimes they touch each other, echo each other, curl up. Questioning the senior manager, the in-between, Sophie does not give us everything to see, letting us imagine the story that drives us intimately. Lover of literature and poetry, she also mixes writing and drawing with painting.
In parallel with her artistic work, and being an art therapist, Sophie sets up humanitarian art therapy mission projects in collaboration with various NGOs around the world (Childhood Mission, Chameleon, Children of Asia), always adventures of a great human and artistic wealth.
