My painting practice approaches the canvas as a living, organic structure where sensation, memory, perception, and emotion intersect. Rather than representing reality, natural forms such as trees, plants, light, and soil emerge as impressions, traces of emotional and sensory memories that surface through the act of painting. These forms resist symbolic fixity and instead linger at the boundary where sensation meets consciousness. Through tactile brushwork, trembling lines, and asymmetrical compositions, the painting becomes a sensorial neural network.
My background in metalcraft has deeply informed my sensitivity to materials. This tactile awareness permeates my entire practice, translating emotion and sensation into color and texture. Negative space, suspended forms, and uneven rhythms create a space where meaning and feeling can quietly unfold. I am particularly drawn to the state before language, where perception has not yet solidified, and I aim to evoke moments of direct, instinctive connection between the work and the viewer.
In a post-digital era saturated with excessive image production and rapid consumption, my paintings resist instant readability. They seek to slow down the gaze, inviting a heightened awareness of density and subtlety. The canvas becomes a contemplative space where unstable perception and emotional resonance coexist, offering not a message, but a presence. I hope for the viewer to linger, to pause, and to feel.
