Return to Marseille for Sébastien Arcouet, after moving to the southwest exactly one year ago! "I've always been drawing and I started painting seriously at the age of 20 to agree to start it not so long ago in 2018. Like many painters, I started painting landscapes by reproducing works by well-known painters, both to try out styles and to learn techniques. It was in 2020 with confinement that landscapes imposed themselves on me. I had to paint the naked city and landscapes. It's at that time that I became a painter of landscapes.
It was in Marseilles that I accepted to be a painter, it was Marseilles that I observed, looked at, scrutinized to see light and shadows, contrasts, it was in Marseille that I took the time and learned to choose the colors of my palette to create my universe. In the summer of 2023, I left Marseille with my family for a new adventure, but Marseille remains in my head every day. I detach myself from it and relate to it every day to paint other landscapes differently, to paint Marseille too, always with the same color palette."
