-You continue to conceive your steel sculptures, recently, you reveal yourself as an animal painter.
What triggered this change?
These last few months, I had a trigger when I watched a documentary on TV about elephants in the wild. It showed a matriarch leading her family to stop for a moment in front of a dead elephant. She lowered her head for a long time as if to collect herself and left. Each member of the troop did the same. This humanity touched me a lot. Once, I found myself in front of a baby elephant, it was a happiness because it radiated positive waves. These monuments of nature show the respect and tenderness that the human race often lacks.
-Why this style of painting?
The animals are destructured with touches of bright color and roundness in the Stratos style. It takes imagination to reconstruct the animal. Children do it quickly and well. For adults, it is harder. This is my artistic message for a lot of people who lack humanity.
-Do you give names to your works?
Only one: Defend me.
-You also paint fish. Is this another message?
Delicate to answer because we need them. But they live in an awful sea, full of garbage. They need to evolve in a better environment. Let's think about future generations. At present, sustainable fisheries are becoming rare.
-What names do you give to these paintings of fish?
Only one as for the elephants, Save them.
-You are preparing a new exhibition...
The first confinement in March boosted me and I signed an agreement with the municipality of Perros-Guirec for an exhibition of twelve sculptures throughout the city for one year. At the moment I am preparing fifteen new paintings for the Graal gallery in Agen-et-Moissac.
