Marie France Garrigues

Very young attracted by drawing I took lessons in the studio of the sculptor and teacher Flavio de Faveri for more than two years in Montauban, the city where I come from. These years will allow me to express myself quickly in this art.

At the same time, scientific studies take me to the end of the world where I am an executive in charge of investment operations for the Territory of French Polynesia in the building sector, then in charge of mission to the Pdt of the Government.

While building for the country and devoting myself to painting, Polynesia inspires me and I write. I will be published by Editions St Germain des Prés for two collections: "Bleu-vert est mon cyclone" and "De autre cote des mots" which will earn me a few years later to join the Société des Gens de Lettres de France.

Back in France in the 2000s, I diversified my techniques to devote myself to oil painting which attracts me more and more. In order to perfect this technique, I enrolled at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris and I took courses there with Gilles Marey.

In 2010 painting becomes my only activity. Passionate about architecture, I devote part of my paintings to New York and Paris paintings which reflect my perception of the uncluttered city, a purely architectural vision, where the human being disappears from the city after having created it. Through my paintings I seek solitude in a hyperurbanized space, and the perspectives that I like to capture are so many bridges from the material to the immaterial.

In 2018 I was promoted to Associate of French Artists and in 2019 Associate of the Taylor Foundation.
