Magenta LN

Born in Seine-Saint-Denis in 1992, Magenta LN grew up in the Paris suburbs and produced her first paintings as a teenager. Self-taught, she was selected in 2020 to carry out an 8-month artistic residency in Paris at 59 Rivoli. This time of work in residence and meetings led him to participate in several group exhibitions in Paris, notably in the gallery at 59 rue de Rivoli, at the Villa Radet, at the Floréal Belleville, but also on the island of Reunion at Cimendef center. Since 2021, she has lived and worked in Marseille.
Color is at the center of his work. It allows her to express what she feels about the world around her. Figurative and naive, his paintings initially represent women's bodies and scenes of life. The bright colors, the sharp tints, the large formats and the imposing bodies bring strength and power to these characters of free women who assume themselves and often face us. If the starting point of his work is the search for a form of emancipation, it also echoes current issues, notably the “me too" era and the questions that arise from it.
Always inspired by everyday life and today's world, she now uses smaller formats, as well as paper supports, which offer more spontaneity and allow her to draw and sketch outside, for example at home. café terrace, to capture the concerns and reality of those around him.
Sometimes with humor, she approaches the contemporary world and its problems in painting with contrasts, both amused by the absurd and revolted by its injustices.
