Artistes environnementaux
Les artistes environnementaux se font de plus en plus nombreux sur la scène contemporaine. Il faut dire que les sujets d'alerte ne manquent pas ! Notre planète souffre chaque jour davantage de la déforestation, des montées des eaux, de la pollution et autres fléaux. Et quoi de mieux que l'art, langage universel, pour évoquer et sensibiliser à ces problématiques ? L'un des tout premiers mouvements artistiques à témoigner de la fragilité de la nature est le land art. Mais c'est le reclamation art qui est véritablement le pionnier de l'art écologique. En effet, les artistes du reclamation art parcourent les espaces naturels isolés et pollués pour les réhabiliter. Aujourd'hui, les approches environnementales existent sous toutes les formes : sensibilisation via des performances, ventes solidaires, actions militantes, installations monumentales, œuvres en matière recyclée... Les revendications d'artistes environnementaux sont omniprésentes sur la scène artistique.
En effet, nombreux sont les artistes contemporains qui se focalisent sur les enjeux environnementaux. Parmi eux, on peut citer Vik Muniz, Demiak, Franck Seguin et bien d'autres. Impossible de ne pas évoquer l'artiste mondialement connu Olafur Eliasson, le maître des installations expérimentales, notamment avec The Weather Project. Yann Arthus-Bertrand, à la fois photographe, reporter et écologiste, nous fait découvrir les merveilles de la planète à travers ses photographies. Sam Dougados, lui, suit les traces du land art en concevant des installations en communion avec la nature. Dans un autre style, l'artiste Moi. réutilise des matériaux recyclés pour créer ses peintures.
