Ekaterina Muromtseva is a visual artist with a background in philosophy and stage design, whose lyrical-conceptual work investigates personal and collective memory through imaginative forms of documentation.
Muromsteva's work has been shown internationally. She had solo exhibitions at M HKA Musem of Contemporary Art, Antwerp; Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow; XL Gallery, Moscow; Art Front Gallery, Tokyo; Echigo Tsumari Art Triennial, etc.
She also participated in the group shows at the Sterischer Herbst Festival in 2018 and 2022 in Graz, Austria. In 2020, she was the winner of the Present Continuous program of the M HKA Musem of Contemporary Art in Antwerp, and the “Innovation" contemporary art prize. That same year she was listed in Forbes Russia “30 under 30".
Currently, she teaches painting and drawing at the VCU Art School in Richmond, Virginia.
