Biography

Kimia is a painter who was born in Iran, and travels around, whose work explores the evolving relationship between humans and nature in the context of urban life. Her recent solo exhibition, Distance Flow (2023) at Dastan Gallery in Tehran, delves into the emotional and physical distance between people and the natural world, reflecting the limitations of nature within sprawling metropolises. Through her compositions, Kimia uses the symbol of tears to convey themes of emotional vulnerability, emptiness, and disconnection, inviting viewers to reflect on universal human experiences of isolation and the silent gaps that separate us from our environment.

Over the years, Kimia has participated in numerous exhibitions, including Art Dubai (2023), “O" gallery, Tehran, Iran(2021), and Carbon Etemad gallery,Tehran,Iran(2021), as well as virtual exhibitions like Selection Magazine (2020). With a career spanning eight years, her paintings have subtly hinted at a larger theme of how we perceive the world. In her upcoming project, Kimia will directly explore this central concern—how we experience life through our eyes—using concepts like repetition and transition to create a more accessible and engaging visual language for her audience.
