In this group of drawings executed with color pencils on paper I intend to showcase sensuality as part of the principle of pleasure in the never-ending struggle with the established values and their power of censorship and branding, and the break and mockery of censorship as a necessary praxis which the artists have performed during the long history of “repression”. Without this profound rebellion against what is taken for granted and accepted, we would fall into a static society, a society that repeats itself or reproduces through the cultural reproduction of its subjects. To break with the eternal return of the same is the supreme mission of the artist.
Fredy Escobar Vega, of multifaceted activities and studies, is compromised with social struggles and economic equity. He does not paint ideas but existence.
