Taisia Korotkova's solo exhibition Imagined Destinations is composed of watercolors combining different types of scientific objects, power plants, photovoltaics but also mushrooms, reptiles, plants, birds, AI and humans. It also represents microorganisms generally invisible to the naked eye, but playing an important role in the terrestrial ecosystem. She enlarges them to make them visible, to expose their importance in the life of a planet, their beauty and their diversity.
Taisia Korotkova tries to represent a world that would have learned to live without using fossil fuels, in which man would have ceased to feel like the center of the universe, and in which nature as well as the state of the Earth would be carefully protected. In a sense, we can interpret it as the terraforming of our own planet.
For the exhibition in Compiègne Taisia presents works dedicated to the Forest of Compiègne and its remarkable trees. She still imagines them alive in the distant future, having survived and thus observed with admiration by scientists.
