Biography
Svetlana Saprykina is a member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia and an Honorary Member of the International Academy of Contemporary Arts. She primarily works in abstract art and has developed her own signature painting style, which combines multilayered material application with the aesthetics of printmaking techniques.
While working within the framework of abstract art, Svetlana does not completely reject the figurative; in fact, she often emphasizes and plays with it in her compositions. She considers herself a follower of the great artist Georgia O'Keeffe, exploring the combination of unusual forms through a new visual language. Her works are known for their layered technique and minimalist use of color.
Svetlana is driven by a desire to find disharmony within the world's harmony and to reassemble it into new forms on the canvas.
