Zeitgenössisches Stillleben
Zeitgenössische Stillleben-Künstler sind Teil einer langen künstlerischen Tradition. Das Originalgenre hat seinen Ursprung in der holländischen Kunst des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts und stellte gerne Pflanzen, unbelebte Alltagsgegenstände, Lebensmittel und tote Tiere dar - kurzum alles, was sich nicht bewegt. Das Stillleben wurde in der modernen Kunst wieder populär, vor allem unter dem Pinsel von Cézanne, aber auch andere berühmte Künstler wie Salvador Dali und Andy Warhol haben damit experimentiert.
Heute verfolgen viele zeitgenössische Stillleben-Künstler wie Wendy Chazin und Graziella visuell einen traditionelleren Ansatz. In ihren Stillleben-Gemälden orientieren sich die zeitgenössischen Künstler stark an den Meistern der modernen Kunst.
In den letzten Jahren haben einige Kunstschaffende der zeitgenössischen Stilllebenmalerei eine neue Dimension verliehen: Der japanische Künstler Koji Kasatani verwandelt Bananenschalen in menschliche Wesen, die verschiedene Aktivitäten des täglichen Lebens ausführen. Die rumänische Künstlerin Ana Popescu stellt Alltagsgegenstände dar, denen sie mit einfachen Formen und leuchtenden Farben Leben einhaucht. Schließlich hat die amerikanische Malerin Amy Nelder das Genre revolutioniert, indem sie Stillleben schafft, die sich um humorvolle oder aktuelle Themen drehen.
