Hélène Leroy

Born in Enghien les Bains in the Val d'Oise, a former student of the Duperré Higher School of Applied Arts and the workshops of the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, I have been exhibiting since the 80s
in numerous trade shows in France and abroad.

My preferred medium is oil paint, chosen for its malleability during the creative process. I primarily use a 7 cm wide palette knife, with which I explore texture and graphic forms. Through glazing and rubbing, the paint reveals its true essence. Drawing its inspiration from a world far removed from representational conventions, my creativity finds its full expression in informal art, though bordering on the figurative, and is nourished mainly by the plant and mineral world. Lines and textures intertwine freely on the canvas, creating improbable landscapes.
Generally imbued with elegance, serenity, and silence, my creations speak to the heart. My intention is to share with as many people as possible my vision of an ideal world filled with gentleness, beauty, and peace.
