Patrick Bail

Patrick Bail was born in 1962 in Paris.

While successively working as a bookseller and then as a librarian (in recent years at the public library of the Centre Pompidou), Patrick Bail has been a songwriter since 1989 and a visual artist since 2001.
Since 2022, his artistic practice has focused on pen and ink work on paper, sometimes starting from watercolor shapes, for a kind of abstract surrealist pointillism.
The principle is improvisation, always starting from a point without premeditation.
He will sometimes be found in a public garden or a street in Paris, drawing outside on a cart/table of his own making.
