Christie has always lived in Africa, but you won't see folklore, haughty women, or exotic courts. The singing, dancing Africa interests her, but she exults in the ever-deepening quest for other planes of existence that the African initiate has been able to reveal.

So the artist, who had chosen purely decorative themes in her previous exhibitions, a pretext for virtuosity, here reaches a new source of inspiration that she treats like a goldsmith of the depths: the dancers, the nudes, the flowers, the cats, the musicians, the clowns lose their melodious contours while poetry, the strong idea, takes over.

The painter pulverizes the material, dismantles it, tears it apart.
