Photographies de nature en noir et blanc

Comme l'a noté le photographe suisse Robert Frank, « le noir et le blanc sont les couleurs de la photographie. Pour moi, elles symbolisent les alternatives d'espoir et de désespoir auxquelles l'humanité est à jamais soumise ». Ces deux émotions peuvent être glanées dans la relation de l'homme avec le paysage. Retirer l'élément de la couleur de la représentation de la nature, c'est révéler la véritable expression. Les photographes qui le font, souvent inspirés par les premières images des années 1820, abandonnent la chromaticité vive pour une connexion approfondie avec leur environnement naturel.  Un certain nombre d'innovations apparaissent dans le développement de la photographie, et plus d'un siècle plus tard, le photographe Ansel Adams cimentera l'héritage de la photographie de paysage en noir et blanc. Ses vastes portraits des paysages naturels des États-Unis ont eu  - et ont toujours - une influence considérable sur les photographes qui ont suivi ses traces. Owen's Valley California (1937) d'Adams explore tout le spectre que les tons noir et blanc peuvent révéler et, à travers eux, l'émerveillement du monde naturel. Miguel Winograd et les paysages marins très émouvants d'Alessandro Puccinelli dépeignent l'étendue des panoramas naturels d'aujourd'hui. Que les tons tout aussi subtils et dramatiques du monochrome continuent d'inspirer ceux qui se trouvent derrière l'objectif...
