Basquiat-Style Artists

Mihoub was born in Oran, Algeria, in 1976.

In 2001, he left for San Francisco, in search of new adventures and inspired by “The Alchemist” by Paolo Coehlo.

As he strolled through the streets of the city center, he discovered the many art galleries, the surrealist trend and post-war expressionist abstraction.

Like André Breton, writer and founder of the surrealist movement, Mihoub lets himself be guided by his instinct; “When I create, I let myself be crossed by the energy that is released, and gradually, I see shapes appear. A composition for me is like a dance, a ballet… ”

He draws his inspiration from artists like Pollock or Dubuffet, follower of a Brut & Spontaneous creation. But also the Street Art scene of the Yew York of the 80s with; Rammellzee for its “Mystical & Spiritual” side, A-One for its “Urban Expressionism” and finally Basquiat for its “Rage to paint”.

In 2014, he moved to Marseille, became Ambassador of the color manufacturer Pébéo, and shines throughout the world, with more than fifty “Live Paintings” to his credit.

His artistic approach: “Our mind is the last space of freedom that we can ignore or explore. "
