Most trees in Japan are essential for human life. Trees move serenely and take time to grow. I took “portraits” of these trees. To better understand their characteristics, I photographed them at night using lighting. It was very dark and humid. And insects were drawn to the light, into the chaos of the lighting work. Then the fear of the lonely night arose. After the shoot, I looked at the photos of these trees. There, there was so much distance between the tree and me that I did not have the same feeling I had felt during the shoot. That's why, I stuck dead branches on the photos and colored the branches to give them life again. Thus the emotional distance between the tree and me has decreased, it sublimates the images and gives them artistic value.
