Traditional painter with mythological inspiration.
Biography
Born in 1991, Masquefa is a self-taught French painter whose universe is deeply influenced by mythology and history. Fascinated since childhood by these founding narratives, he draws on their symbols and mysteries as an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
Masquefa has developed a style he describes as fictional realism, where the technical rigor of classical realism meets a narrative and symbolic dimension. At the heart of his work is a central figure: the woman.
Through ancient myths, archetypes and contemporary representations, the woman becomes muse, goddess, warrior, prophetess or specter. She embodies a constant tension between strength and fragility, between legend and everyday life.
Each canvas seeks to freeze this duality in a suspended visual narrative, on the border between the real and the symbolic.
Masquefa's work invites a contemporary rereading of our collective imaginations, exploring the timeless figures that continue to nourish our gaze.
