Félix Vincent captures the color and light of a landscape with power!
Biography
Félix Vincent was born in 1946 in Miribel, near Lyon, France. He studied art and graduated from the Écoles des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and Toulouse, as well as from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
In 1972, he left France to settle in Montreal, Canada. This is how his career took off. Félix Vincent established himself on the art scene, participating in the naive art movement. For many years, he exhibited in France and throughout the world. His works have been included in numerous private and museum collections.
Years later, his painting evolved, he abandoned his naive style to create works closer to reality.
In 2000, he returned to France and settled in the Corbières.
Félix Vincent expresses that painting is an instructive and natural need to communicate with the world, similar to speaking or playing. As a painter, he fully engages in his work, adopting a position of wonder before life. He observes, analyzes, synthesizes, and then shares this emotion through his works.
Painting, according to him, must be constructed as an abstraction of shapes, colors, and materials; the subject appears at the end of the work. For this nomadic artist, the canvas is the main baggage. Félix Vincent explores a world without borders, inspired by nature but finding its poetic and surreal dimension in the studio. Faithful to painting, he interprets nature and its fruits, showing the bright side of life. His work invites celebration and wonder.
