Laurence Granger

Laurence Granger, born in 1951 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, lives and works in Pontpoint (Oise). Since the early 1980s, she has been exploring an inhabited abstraction, where pictorial gesture, color, and light become the vectors of a free, vibrant, and profoundly sensitive language. Her work, nourished by abstract expressionism and lyrical abstraction, unfolds without preparatory drawing, in an immediate relationship with matter. Far from any formalism, her oeuvre oscillates between control and release, raw energy and subtle balance. It is within this tension, between duality and unity, movement and silence, construction and spontaneity, that the artist asserts her freedom. A freedom conquered through format, series, and the instant of making, inviting the viewer to enter a true “state of sensation,” to feel rather than to understand.

Over the decades, her work has been recognized and exhibited in institutions and art centers, mainly at the regional level, with public support such as that of the FRAC and the DRAC Picardie.
